Transcript Simon Payn: Hi. I'm Simon. I'm the president and
founder of Ready to Go Newsletters.
I have found one of the most beautiful places I could to make
this video. I am at the Montelucia Resort in Scottsdale,
Arizona. Behind me is the Camelback Mountain. I've been at a
marketing conference here for the past couple of days, and I
wanted to share with you why I do what I do, why I make
newsletters.
Let me tell you first a bit about my background. I'm a
journalist by trade. I've worked with some of the biggest
newspapers in the United Kingdom and in Canada. I've worked with
magazines. I've worked online. I managed the editorial team
across five European countries for a website. Frankly, I know
how to make newsletters and make content that gets read and is
interesting.
I've been a student of marketing for many years. There's a big
difference between what 90 percent of businesses do and what the
top 10 percent of businesses do, and that is they do smart
marketing that works, period.
So I thought, Hey, let's put the two together. Let's put my
editorial skills together with my marketing skills to make
newsletters that are going to work for people.
Now there's a difference between, as I said, the top 10 percent
and the bottom 90 percent, because the bottom 90 percent, what I
call the mediocre middle, frankly don’t do newsletter marketing.
I believe that if you do a newsletter every month, you will
become positioned as a trusted expert, which means people come
to you, rather than you going to them. And it means you'll build
a relationship with them by keeping in touch with them on a
regular basis.
Now, my passion for all this is because I believe every business
in the world, including funeral homes, should have a newsletter,
and I'm here to make it possible and to make it easy for you.
If you send out a newsletter on a regular, monthly basis, I
promise you that you will be in the top 10 percent of all the
businesses in your industry, and it's my passion to help as many
businesses as I can reach that position. Newsletters are one of
the best ways to do that. That's why I do what I do, and it's
why I'm here, building this business.
